Another Study update!

I was busy last week and missed the study update  πŸ˜•

My study plans from last week:
  •     Try tracking my hours using a graph paper
  •     Using the Pomodoro technique
  •     Writing at least one sentence on Lang-8 every four days.

I didn't get to follow all of my study plans from last week. I missed one day for posting on Lang-8. While I didn't get to try tracking my hours with the graph paper I did download a Pomodoro app that keeps track of how many hours you've spent on each project. So far it's been working out pretty well.

I've been doing my Anki and Wanikani reviews daily. When the cards in the apprentice level on Wanikani gets below 30 I go through the lessons until it's at or over 30 again.

I've started using a program that's still in development called "Satori Reader". It's a really great new program that is still going through beta testing. They still need more beta testers and I strongly encourage everyone to sign up! I make another post for this later but just some info on it. You can customize which kanji appear. You can choose JLPT, grade level, kanji from textbooks, or Wanikani. If you use a service they ask that you let them know so they can try to integrate it. You can choose when and IF furigana appears. It really is wonderful and it's exactly the kind of service I've been looking for!

Next week plans

  • Continue using the Pomodoro technique and the app.
  • Continue posting on Lang-8
  • Keep up my Anki reviews (If you haven't already heard about Anki it is a great SRS/flashcards system. Anki spaces out the cards for you and only shows you cards you're about to forget. I have a few add-ons added to mine.)
  • Keep up with my Wanikani reviews (Similar to Anki in that it's an SRS, but it for kanji learning. They also provide the mnemonics for you and teach them first using radicals)
